What is EFT Tapping and how does it work?
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT Tapping) are evidence-based mind-body techniques often referred to as Energy Psychology or Meridian Tapping. By using a focused intention while tapping on specific points on the body, the energetic points that Traditional Chinese Medicine uses in acupuncture, we can rebalance and re-establish the energy flow around specific thoughts or issues.
Within that context, EFT can change the way the brain processes information around the very same issues. Often, this is explained as rewiring or rerouting the brain’s conditioned response into a more positive and preferable one. Furthermore, EFT has been found helpful in identifying and releasing energy blockages, which may be interrupting the body’s natural healing processes.

Why work with an Accredited EFT Practitioner?
EFT is a simple to use self-help tool that you can learn and apply to yourself, which may leave you wondering why to use a practitioner in the first place. The truth is, as you start applying it, you may find EFT not working for you, especially for more complex issues. However, most of the time, that is not for EFT to blame. We usually tend to underestimate the problem or overestimate our skills and knowledge. That’s where a practitioner is essential: when you’ve hit a wall.
What a practitioner can assist you with is:
- Navigate the issue with questioning and investigative tools, uncover the root problem behind a challenge and effectively tune into it.
- Pick the right statement in each tapping round, and use a fully aligned language with the purpose of the tapping.
- Uncover extra tapping points and techniques, which are valuable in more complex issues.
- Identify and clear existing blocks that sabotage your healing process, despite how much effort you put into it.
- Create a “safe space” for you to explore and clear complex issues and emotions, which you may not easily dive into by yourself.
- Create a structured and organized process, using gentle techniques and other skills where needed that will ensure safety and maximize progress.
- See the issue from another angle or perspective, which may provide a different level of understanding and a deeper level of healing.
